• Nightlight is a station that aired continuous (looped) DTV Transition information beginning on June 12, 2009 (except for emergency and severe weather alerts). Although Nightlights were allowed to operate until July 12, only a small number remained on the air until that date. Nightlights used various types of local IDs.
• Transition Highlight photographs display local DTV Transition information that was broadcast on or prior to June 12, 2009. This includes a variety of on-air Transition-related material. These stations left the air or switched to Nightlighting by midnight on June 12.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS ON THIS SITE ARE OF DISTANT STATIONS

All photographs used on this site are of DX (with the exception of two photos of my local KTBS-3). The quality ranges from good to very poor.

DX signals must be strong, stable, and absent of severe co-channel interference in order to produce high-quality photographs and screen captures. Dealing with bad signals is part of DXing.

This Nightlight-specific ID slide was shown between some loops. It is DXer-friendly: Easy-to-read "KTEN" calls are displayed on the slide three times, and the "10" logo is large.

Although the focus of Nightlights & Transition Highlights is analog TV stations, I included the Transition spot below from KTEN-DT-26 as a reminder that analog TV stations were simulcasting with their digital outlets prior to the analog shutdown on June 12.
